DESCRIPTION:On Saturday 29th March 2025\, the Thorney Society is commemorating the aircrew lost over Thorney during World War II and in other accidents up to the 1980s.  Village residents and those interested are invited to come to the Bedford Hall between 2pm and 4pm to view an exhibition in the Hall\, and for a special opening of Thorney Museum.  This date is the 80th anniversary of a crash which claimed the lives of a Free French airman and the crew of a British Stirling bomber.

DESCRIPTION:The old A47 Wisbech Road will be totally closed the length of the village from the Rose & Crown all the way to Pigeons Farm/Calman Colaiste.  Old Knarr Fen Drove will also be closed. Station Road will be closed for 5 minutes at 10.30am\, and for the rest of the hour it will be reduced to one carriageway.\nThis year we are celebrating 40 years of racing in Thorney.  We apologise for the inconvenience these road closures cause. Thank you for your patience.
